A Season of Discovery and Creativity!

Get ready for a summer filled with hands-on learning, creative exploration, and outdoor adventures! Our thoughtfully designed summer camps offer children a dynamic and immersive experience, fostering curiosity, collaboration, and self-expression.

Each week features a unique theme, allowing campers to dive into new interests, experiment with different materials, and build lasting friendships—all while having fun in a nurturing environment.

WEEKLY THEMES & DATES:

Wk 1 Nature Explorers Week

1. Nature Explorers Week

(June 16-20)

  • Focus: Exploring the natural world and connecting with nature.
  • Activities:
    • Nature scavenger hunts.
    • Mud kitchen play.
    • Building miniature fairy houses using found materials.
    • Journaling observations with sketches and watercolor paints.
  • Projects: Create a collaborative nature art piece, such as a large mural or a 3D sculpture.

2. Little Architects & Builders Week

(June 23-27)

  • Focus: Designing and constructing with a variety of materials.
  • Activities:
    • Building with loose parts and recycled materials
    • Exploring basic principles of balance and structure.
    • Creating small worlds using blocks and natural elements.
  • Projects: Design and build a “community” of structures (e.g., homes, bridges, or playgrounds).

(June 30-July 4)

  • Focus: Self-expression through art.
  • Activities:
    • Large-scale collaborative paintings.
    • Exploring textures and patterns with stamping and printmaking.
    • Clay and wire sculpture creations.
  • Projects: Host a “gallery walk” for families at the end of the week.

  • Activities:
    • Creating instruments from recycled materials.
    • Exploring rhythms with body percussion and movement.
    • Storytelling through soundscapes and musical narratives.
  • Projects: Collaborative group performance 

5. Little Scientists Week

(July 14-July 18)

  • Focus: Experimentation and curiosity-driven learning.
  • Activities:
    • Mixing natural materials to create “potions.”
    • Investigating light and shadows with a projector and translucent objects.
    • Exploring water flow and movement through outdoor play.
  • Projects: Document observations to create a shared “discovery journal.”

6. Story Weavers Week

(July 21-July 25)

  • Focus: Bringing stories to life through creativity and collaboration.
  • Activities:
    • Creating story stones or puppets to use in storytelling.
    • Collaborative story creation using children’s ideas.
    • Dramatic play and performance.
  • Projects: Produce a short skit or storybook written and illustrated by the children.

(July 28-August 1)

  • Focus: Engaging the senses to explore and create.
  • Activities:
    • Exploring sensory bins with natural materials.
    • Ice and water play with food coloring and herbs.
    • Creating scented playdough and textured art.
  • Projects: Sensory-themed installations for parents to explore with their children.

8. Garden-to-Table Week

(August 4-8)

  • Focus: Exploring food, gardening, and healthy eating.
  • Activities:
    • Planting herbs and vegetables in pots or garden beds.
    • Exploring textures, colors, and smells of fresh produce.
    • Creating simple recipes like fruit salads, veggie dips, or herb-infused water.
  • Projects: Build a miniature garden or create a collaborative cookbook with recipes and drawings by the children.

9. Imagination Factory Week

(August 11-15)

  • Focus: Using creativity and loose parts to make inventions.
  • Activities:
    • Designing and building contraptions with recycled materials (e.g., cars, robots, or airplanes).
    • Experimenting with pulleys, ramps, and levers in hands-on play.
    • Creating imaginative stories to accompany their inventions.
  • Projects: Host an “Invention Showcase” where children explain their creations to families.
wk 10 - Water Wonders Week

10. Water Wonders Week

(August 18-22)

  • Focus: Exploring the properties of water through science and play.
  • Activities:
    • Water play with buckets, sponges, and spray bottles.
    • Investigating how things float and sink.
    • Creating small boats and testing them in water.
  • Projects: Design and paint a large outdoor water wall with funnels, tubes, and scoops for ongoing exploration.

Camp Logistics & Registration Details

Cost:

  • $250 per week.
  • Additional $75 per week for extended afternoon hours (1:00pm – 3:00pm).

Half-Day & Full-Day Options:

  • Half-Day: Core activities and group projects.
  • Full-Day: Extended exploration with additional open-ended play, outdoor activities, and rest time for younger participants.
  • Camps run 8:00am – 1:00pm
  • Optional additional afternoon hours from 1:00pm-3:00pm available for an additional $75 per week.

Cancellation & Refund Policy:

  • Full payment is required at the time of registration.
  • You may switch to another camp date if space is available.
  • No refunds or make-ups for missed days or if the camp is not the right fit.
  • Withdrawal requests must be made at least 2 weeks before the camp start date to receive a refund minus a $50 non-refundable deposit.

  • Ages: 3-6 years old (must be potty trained or well on their way).
  • Location: Little Nestlings Early Learning Center, 19200 Willamette Dr, West Linn, OR 97068.
  • Registration: Secure your child’s spot by completing the online form. Once registered, families will receive an invoice—camp spots are only guaranteed once payment is received.
